From the Islamabad airport to Skardu city, trekking to K2 Base Camp is probably one of the most amazing experiences on earth. Following a brief flight, the walk takes place overland from Skardu to Askole, where it passes through beautiful villages, glaciers, and mountains.

After passing through Jhola, Paiyu, Urdukas, and Goro II, trekkers reach Concordia, also known as the "Throne Room of the Mountain Gods." You must hike up to 5150 meters straight to reach the K2 Base Camp. It should take 12 to 15 days to complete the journey.

This route has views of famous glaciers such as Baltoro and Godwin-Austen and sights of huge peaks such as Broad Peak. It also gives a glimpse of local lifestyle and culture. Though physically demanding, the trek offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences and mind-blowing landscapes.

Day 1 Arrival in Islamabad & Transfer to the Hotel

Welcome to Pakistan. Today, you will be landing at Islamabad International Airport. Our representative will pick you up, meet you at the airport, and later drop you off at your hotel in Islamabad. Following the rest, try to recover from your long flight. We will dine together to brief you regarding your K2 base camp trek.

Day 2 Fly from Islamabad to Skardu (2,228m)

We'll drop you off at the airport to experience a stunning mountain scenery flight to Skardu. Breathtaking scenery of Gondogoro La pass, Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), and other famous Karakorum peaks on your flight. Transfer from Skardu airport and meet our representative, who will escort you to your group hotel, where some of your porters and trekking team will have arranged to receive you.

Day 3 Rest day in Skardu

During your day off in Skardu, enjoy the calming beauty of this mountain town, explore peaceful locations like Satpara Lake and Skardu Fort, or take a walk through the local bazaar. Taste delicious Balti food and relax in the fresh air. This day enables your body to adjust to the altitude before the trek to K2 Base Camp.

Day 4 Rest Day in Skardu: Trip briefing and preparation for day 5

You can enjoy another day of touring as we arrange your paperwork, transportation, and logistics for your base camp hike. Visit this historical town and take a weekend trip to the alpine valleys of Gondogoro La, Leila Peak, Mitre Peak, Muztagh Tower, and Vigne Glacier .Skardu is located on the Indus River's southern bank, which divides the Himalayas from the Karakorum.

Day 5 Drive from Skardu to Askole (2,600m)

Get up early and take a jeep to Askole, which is located along the Indus and Shigar Rivers on the winding Shigar road. Askole is a tiny mountain village in Shigar Valley. As you trek through the town, enjoy a view of the apricot trees and the greenery, and observe regular farming activities. Bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen for protection.

Day 6 Trek from Askole to Jhola (3,185m)

After a short rest in Askole, we'll drive to Johla Camp to overnight there. Get out of Askole and head into the peace of the Karakorum mountains. Soon, the valley will open out to, magnificent Biafo Glacier. Visit the moraine, which will bring you to the ancient Korfong camp. If the road is blocked between Askoli and Johla, we will walk from Askoli to Johla.

Day 7 Trek from Jhola to Paiyu (3,383m)

We will depart from Johla Camp early this morning. After following the path of the river for a while, the route rises to higher levels and offers breathtaking views of the magnificent Paiju Peak. Paiju is a lush haven. The massive Baltoro Glacier, the granite peaks of Trango and Cathedral group, and, if clear, a sight of K2 are all initially seen from the camp.

Day 8 Rest day in Paiyu

The goal of the rest day at Paiyu is to chill out and get ready for the more difficult part of the journey. Enjoy the breathtaking vista of the Baltoro Glacier and the surrounding mountains.

Take little walks, socialize with other hikers, or just relax in the camp.

It's time to rest up, eat healthily, and adjust to the higher altitude.

Day 9 Trek from Paiyu to Urdukas (4,130m)Day 10

The day starts with a tea break and a sunrise sight over Trango Tower. The day includes a challenging climb up the rolling moraine, going through the Nameless Towers, and reaching Urdukas camp, a historic landmark, constructed in 1909 by the Duke of Abruzzi. You can either relax or take a 360-degree view of Baltoro in the afternoon.

Day 10 Trek from Urdukas to Goro II (4,250m)

Today, after a day at Urdukas, you will trek to Goro. Start by climbing onto the Baltoro Glacier and continue upwards with a view of Gasherbrum IV. The path is rocky and includes ice dunes until you reach Goro I for lunch and a break. Afterward, trek a few more hours to Goro II to set up camp for the night.

Day 11 Trek from Goro II to Concordia (4,690m)

As we climb up the Baltoro glacier, you will have great views of Broad Peak. Marble and Crystal Peaks can be seen on the left. K2 is still hidden until the moment when we arrive at Concordia. Concordia isa broad glacier stretch which is one of the world's finest locations on earth. We will have 4 eight-thousanders, 10 out of the 30 highest mountains of the world, surrounding us.

Day 12 Trek from Concordia (4,690m) to K2 Basecamp (5,150m) – Overnight at K2 Basecamp

Today, your mountain guide will take you to Broad Peak base camp on the Godwin-Austen glacier for overnight stay. You will reach Broad Peak Basecamp by lunchtime and have a free afternoon to enjoy the landscape. Broad Peak base camp gives breathtaking and close-up views of K2. Have a superb sunset view above Broad Peak and other Karakoram giants

Day 13 Trek from Basecamp to Goro II

Today is the top highlight of your Base Camp trek, as you will be walking to K2 base camp. You have completed your K2 base camp trek and are now ready to head back to Islamabad, following your route in reverse. With Gasherbrum IV in view, gather your equipment and begin your journey towards the Baltoro glacier. It will be afternoon when you get to Goro Camp.

Day 14 Trek from Goro II to Khuburtze

Proceed to the Khoburtse campground by retracing your route on Baltoro Glacier. Lunch will be served on the Duke's terrace, which offers breathtaking views of the Baltoro glacier. Trek down the narrow valley after lunch until you arrive at the Khoburtse campground. Khoburtse Camp marks the end of the powerful Baltoro glacier and the beginning of the Braldu Valley.

Day 15 Trek from Khuburtze to Mundungy

You continue your journey down the Braldu Valley today, hiking from Khuburtze to Mundung.. Now that you have passed the Baltoro Glacier, continue on a more leisurely path through the blooming flowers. After around two hours of hiking, you will reach the peaceful Mundung camp site, which is a wonderful place to relax and reflect on the trip.

Day 16 Trek from Mundung to Askole

Your amazing journey to K2 Base Camp is coming to an end today. Travel from Mundung to Askole village, where your journey will end. The Braldu River runs alongside the path, which offers breathtaking views throughout the day. After descending the Braldu River downstream to where it meets the Panama River, you head northeast to a campsite near the Jhola toll bridge.

Day 17 Drive from Askole to Skardu

After spending the final night in the tent among the stars, begin your journey via Askole in the direction of Skardu. You will pass through several side valleys and an irrigation channel. Drive to Shigar via the Braldu River, pass the bridge over the Indus River, and then return to Skardu by following the Indus River.

Day 18 Leisure day in Skardu

After your 17-day trip to K2 Base Camp, enjoy a well-earned day off in Skardu. The charming town is the ideal place for people to relax and refresh. Explore the local bazaars, or go to neighboring sites like Satpara Lake or Shigar Fort. It's a peaceful day to enjoy your accomplishment and think back on your journey.

Day 19 Fly from Skardu to Islamabad & transfer to the Hotel

We'll take you to the airport so you can catch a beautiful flight back to Islamabad with a view of the mountains. After meeting you at the Islamabad Airport, our staff will take you to the hotel. You can spend the remainder of the afternoon at your Islamabad hotel

Day 20 Transfer to the International Airport for final departure

The "K2 base camp trek" is completed. We will drop you off from the hotel 4 hours prior to the departure flight time. Breakfast is complimentary at the hotel. Briefly, finishing the K2 Base Camp trek is something you will never forget and be left with a deep feeling of achievement. With memories of the breathtaking scenery and majestic landscapes, you depart with lasting impressions of this unforgettable journey.
